The 5 Days Marangu Route, also known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” is a popular option for trekkers seeking a comfortable Kilimanjaro experience with hut accommodations instead of tents. This route, starting from the southeast, takes you through lush rainforest, transitioning into moorlands and high-altitude desert, and culminating in a summit attempt from Kibo Hut via Gilman’s Point.
Ideal for climbers who prefer a shorter and more straightforward route with less rugged camping, the 5-day Marangu itinerary is condensed yet still offers enough time for acclimatization. The route includes an essential acclimatization trek to Zebra Rocks to optimize your summit chances, and despite being more frequently traveled, it remains a favorite due to its convenience, well-maintained infrastructure, and historical significance.
While the 5 days version is faster-paced compared to the 6-day option, it still provides an exciting journey to Uhuru Peak, the Roof of Africa, with memorable views and the comfort of hut-based accommodations.
Arrival in Tanzania – Welcome to Your Kilimanjaro Adventure!

After checking in, enjoy dinner with your group. In the evening, you’ll meet your mountain guides for a detailed trek briefing and gear check. If necessary, we will assist in organizing any missing equipment for your climb.
